Verdict

Golden Asha can take this maiden from Born For Dancing, Dane's Castle and Captain Johnno. Neville Callaghan's filly put up a decent debut effort at Beverley last month, running green to begin with but then finishing strongly once the penny had dropped. That form was just about as good as anything on offer here, and with improvement to come we take her to score. Born For Dancing has more experience than the selection and ran more or less to the same level at Bath last time as she had on her Warwick debut. She too can still improve after just those two starts and is expected to be thereabouts. Similarly, Dane's Castle has been consistent thus far and does have track experience here, but he has already had a few chances and may not be quite good enough at this level. Captain Johnno heads the weights and may well appreciate this faster surface than he has raced on so far, though the trip will probably be too sharp for him, so we take Golden Asha to land the prize.
