In depth

Verdict

Tony McCoy has had some success on Jered in the past and though his mount was well beaten in the Paddy Power here at Xmas he will have found that three miles testing his stamina. JAYO was a short-priced favourite when runner-up in this a year ago. He's on a 2lb higher mark now and looks to have been primed to perfection to go one better after a nice comeback over a trip too short at Fairhyouse. Stablemate Dooneys Gate ran well in the Topham at Aintree on his final start last year but may just need this, a remark that also applies to Askmeroe, unraced since a poor run on ground too fast at Aintree in May. Silent Creek ran well at Limerick recently and is at the right end of the handicap unlike Follow The Plan, a Grade 1 winner here in 2008 but arriving here on the back of two mishaps.
