In depth

Verdict

Healys Bar was withdrawn at Punchestown yesterday and has been well beaten on his last two starts on heavy ground after a very promising chasing debut on that track. Outlaw Kid was having his first start over fences after a long absence when falling at Cork in November and, providing he's none the worse, looks a chaser in the making. His stablemate, Tony McCoy's mount Rahan De Marcigny, has been running as though a longer trip would suit. Shirley Casper was a very promising hurdler in 2009 and made a fine start over fences at Naas in November. She was beaten at long odds-on by Gentle Alice at Limerick over Xmas and will need to do better. TAWAAGG, narrowly beaten in the richly endowed MCR Handicap Hurdle here a year ago, makes his debut over fences and could be another star from the Willie Mullins yard. He takes on some decent opponents but can get off to a winning start. Gates Of Rome wasn't far behind Realt Dubh at Punchestown in November but was well beaten behind the same horse in a Grade 1 on heavy ground at the last meeting here.
