In depth

Verdict

A market move for the reappearing Royal Niece would be of interest but David Wintle's mare may want a faster surface to show her best form and preference in a moderate contest is for Penny's Crown, who is marginally preferred to Saddler's Quest. The last mentioned was not in contention when falling last time but has ground conditions to suit and may appreciate the return to this grade over hurdles. Needwood Spirit has to be respected in this grade but may be a shade high in the weights, while Cascade Lakes has given little cause for optimism so far and is easy to leave out of calculations. The vote then goes to Penny's Crown, who gave some signs of encouragement at Ludlow last time and she could be of interest in such a poor contest.
