    Verdict

Player, Henchman and Brilliant are three against the field in a trappy opener and the narrow vote is given to Player. The selection was a fair fourth on his debut behind Poker De Sivola on his debut, is sure to have learnt from the experience and given nominal improvement in what looks an easier race he will be hard to beat. Henchman rates the main danger on his debut third behind Capitalize, that form has since been franked but his best form on turf has come on a faster surface and he is taken on with this in mind. Brilliant was a fair sort on the flat but he showed little on his hurdling bow, however his yard are in form and he should be noted in the market. Of the remainder Telegonus is another that hails from a yard in form but he has looked a short runner to date and with this in mind for the winner we return to Player who looks sure to improve.
