Three-year-olds have held their own in this in recent years. York third THETIS was denied a run in a Listed race at Haydock on Saturday because of the soft ground and wouldn't want any more rain. But she's probably the one to beat on her second in last year's Rockfel at Newmarket and she holds a fitness advantage over the returning Spangled. Faster going would also have suited Roger Varian's four-year-old but she should still give a good account. Opal Tiara boasted some decent form as a juvenile but hasn't run since October. Robanne was well beaten in the 1000 Guineas but any give in the ground would suit the tough Lulu The Zulu.
