Verdict

This is a low-grade handicap and Headford Lady will be fancied despite remaining a maiden after 20 starts. James Halpin's mare was beaten a short-head over the C&D a month ago and only just failed to go one better under a 7lbs rise at Wexford a week later. She's up another 2lbs here but looks certain to make a bold bid. Manavic won this a year ago from 2lbs higher and hasn't had much racing since. He was probably racing over too far at Leopardstown last time and looks a threat. Rue De Cabestan has won only once in 28 starts but hasn't been in bad form recently and can go well though COOLAGAD WONDER gets the nod. Liam Cusack's charge came with a storming late run to capture a Limerick handicap in June and can hardly be blamed for his last place at Gowran last time as he was badly impeded leaving the stalls and was never in the hunt.
