In depth

Verdict

Malbas and WILD SHOT (NAP) are penalised for recent Flat victories. The latter has won twice since March and attracted the attention of the officials after his hurdling debut when fourth in a big field at Punchestown which has worked out brilliantly. He can take this though won't find conceding weight to The Virginian easy. The latter was only headed close home after leading two out at Wexford though has since run poorly on the Flat. Cottie is another receiving the mares' allowance and she performed with credit in both starts last month so should get into contention. Jetango won a point at Stradbally in May and makes his debut under Rules.
