      Verdict

A low grade, but nonetheless competitive contest to start the evening at the Sunbury track, withe the consistent Tbm Can, Saddler's Cove and Desert Island Disc among the main contenders, with the latter getting a narrow vote. John Bridger's mare has been a wonderful servant for the yard and although she has gone over a year without winning, she has turned in several decent efforts in defeat recently. None more so than when just touched off here a fortnight ago by the tough front-runner Castleshane. While that was over ten-furlongs, she is just as happy at this trip, as she showed last year when beaten half-a-length by Conundrum in this contest, and with Jamie Mcdonald reunited with her, she looks the sensible choice. Mark Brisbourne has placed Tbm Can with great skill this summer, picking up four races along the way and while he will have to improve again to win off this mark, that isn't impossible. Saddler's Cove is another who comes into this in good form. Next to useless over timber, he has proved a revelation on the flat, winning two of his four outings. He is still open to some improvement. Orthodox and Grand Lass can also be given a shout, but Desert Island Disc, who has run here six times, finishing second on five occasions, is taken to gain that elusive first success on the track.
