In depth

Verdict

This track could suit Scotch Corner's style of racing and he is given the verdict ahead of Fool On The Hill and Cigarillo. Nigel Twiston- Davies charge' is a perennial front runner and while he let down his backers at Newcastle under a modest ride from Antony Evans, he showed improved form to chase home Hasty Prince at Ludlow and he should be difficult to beat here. Fool On The Hill ran well at Plumpton until unshipping at the fourth-last. There are races to be won with him if his jumping stands up in more ways than one. Cigarillo is held in high regard at the Noel Chance camp. He gives the impression that he needs much to fall right for him in his races but it wouldn't be the greatest surprise of he were bang there in the closing stages.Lough Rynn and Duncliffe meet again following a recent success by the latter. On that bare evidence, it looks difficult to suggest that there will be any change in the order on this occasion. Kim Fontenail made a pleasing enough debut over fences against her own sex and while she is in receipt of lumps of weight, she will need to show significant improvement to beat these. River Pirate won a weak novice event earlier on in the year but is best watched on this occasion following a three-month absence. Scotch Corner is our pick in the fourth race on the card.
