    In depth

    Verdict

Asaas never threatened on his handicap bow having won a maiden at Beverley earlier while Fast And Hot went close on a couple of occasions before running poorly at Sandown. Blushing Red failed to cope with a 3lb rise last time having won at Chepstow before that and Sandown runner-up Exceeding Power steps up in distance along with the returning maiden winner Intermodal. Ply can figure on the back of a placed effort over today’s trip at Newmarket but a chance is taken on top weight COUNT MONTECRISTO returning to form now back over 1m2f for the first time since going close in a higher grade handicap at Ripon back in April.
