In depth

Verdict

Based on his debut run Texan Star maybe hard to beat in this maiden but with a few doubts about him and at the forecast prices we'd rather make our play with JUMEIRAH PALM, after a promising debut, with Ebiyan the only other to really take seriously. Given a girls allowance the pick showed plenty of ability despite running green on her first run. She looked to get the hang of things late in the day and we can expect plenty of improvement with that run under the saddle. Texan Star beat home some potentially useful types on his opening gambit and only found a listed winner too good. While that is form good enough to win this race he disappointed next time up and with it an unknown how he's trained on this year and how he'll act on this surface we'll chance our arm elsewhere. Ebiyan sets the standard on the ratings front but after being well held over hurdles recently we're not overly convinced. Bethlehem is the most interesting newcomer but he'll have to race up to potential to land this and with Celtic Commitment looking exposed in this company we find it best to side with Jumeirah Palm at the forecast odds.
