In depth

Verdict

The betting suggested GUNNERSIDE would improve handicapping for the first time on last week’s reappearance and he duly obliged at Newcastle. He can go in again and confirm running with Elusif with Grant Tuer’s yard enjoying a purple patch. Vincenzo Coccotti was thereabouts over 6f at the end of last year while Street Poet went close the last time he raced over track and trip. Nicky Baby finished in front of Bernard Spierpoint when beaten a length here and is also preferred to Kyllinga.
