      Verdict

      STAR ARCHER, a Haydock maiden winner in 2016, has returned after a very long break to complete a double at Wolverhampton, the latest at this level. He has a 6lb rise to contend with and is making his Polytrack debut but can complete a hat-trick. Intrepidly won a maiden here in 2016 and was lightly raced last summer. His two recent runs at Lingfield have come at Class 3 level and he'll need to find a bit more. Dark Red made a successful reappearance on Polytrack in 2016 then completed a hat-trick on Turf. He was in really good form throughout last summer and is a Lincoln hope. Kyllachy Gala has been going well all winter and looks certain to get into contention while Mark Johnston won this nice prize last year and Fire Fighting has dropped to a mark he should be competitive from. The remaining pair both have chances in a much better than average opener.
