In depth

Verdict

MOONLIT SEA seemed not to stay the 1m4f trip here a fortnight ago but wasn’t beaten far over a mile at Wolverhampton on his earlier debut. That looks the best piece of form on offer and he’s preferred to stablemate Percy Alexander. It would be no surprise to see both Gold Fleece and Tavus finish a lot closer today but the remainder with experience make little appeal and one of the newcomers may prove a bigger threat. Poor Auld Paddy’s dam won on the all-weather and Carriageway is half-brother to a Listed winner while Don Jupp’s dam is related to the useful all-weather performers Hathal and Gentleman’s Deal.
