In depth

Verdict

Several contenders for a tricky opener. Dorking Boy is obviously held in high regard as he made his hurdling debut in a Grade 2 at Chepstow in October. He was well beaten but has had a wind operation since. HERECOMESTHEBOOM also had decent bumper form and has placed in a point-to-point. He is having a first run in almost a year but the switch to hurdles will suit and he’s unlikely to fail through lack of fitness. Cardigan Bay has placed the last twice at Leicester over this trip while Chambard stayed on well to score at Exeter, though may struggle under his penalty. Tel'art still has time on his side and Some Boy Mccoy should find a small race before the season is out while Smarty Wild was showing his first sign of ability when third at Huntingdon.
