In depth

Verdict

Low grade but nevertheless competitive stuff. Toby was a promising hurdler a few years ago but has rapidly lost his form. If the ever patient Nicky Richards has reawakened his enthusiasm, it would be very difficult to see past him today. Tobesure was a winner here in Class E for John Charlton. His hurdling technique is pretty agricultural though and on that occasion, he was helped by the omission of two flights of hurdles.Castle Clear produced a stinker in behind but is forgiven that effort and duly made the TEAMtalk selection. He acts on the surface and his trainer, Sue Bradburne confirmed the stable's well-being earlier in the week at Wetherby. Of the remainder, Artesmia has done nothing wrong in minor events while Setting Sun - an infrequent visitor to the racetrack - seems best in bigger fields and could run into a place at decent odds.
