In depth

Verdict

Bond Becks takes a significant drop in class today and it really is impossible to see past him in this grade. He is confidently selected as the TEAMtalk pick after near misses in the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster and the Roses Stakes at York. Haydock Park winner, Brantwood ran well enough at big odds in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar but has plenty to find today. Marinas Charm shaped encouragingly in a sole Haydock start but the jockey booking isn't particularly eye-catching. H Harrison ran a track record to post his maiden success last time out but that was probably more as a result of the conditions than his speed. He's certainly workmanlike but probably not good enough here. Any money for Zietory would be interesting but the pedigree looks more suited to a mile rather than five furlongs.
