In depth

Verdict

CORRIN WOOD should eventually prove himself in a different league to these. His narrow defeat by the useful Gevrey Chabertin at Haydock was followed by a facile success at Carlisle and this looks well within his capabilities. Kris Cross has already won a point-to-point, a bumper and a maiden hurdle and can't have shown his true form on his reappearance at Wetherby as he was beaten a long way, though it's Our Joey who may provide the main threat. He was in the process of running a big race at Ayr last time when crashing through the wing at the second last and providing he's none the worse should get into the frame. Mitchell's Way has had plenty of chances but hasn't enjoyed the testing ground on his two latest starts.
