In depth

Verdict

MIDNIGHT APPEAL was third in a Grade 2 at Cheltenham after beating a previous winner at Hereford when Jimmy The Hat was a further six lengths away in third. The latter probably needed that but Alan King's charge should confirm the form, despite his penalty, and can also get the better of the luckless Enter Paradise, though Charlie Mann's ex-pointer hasn't done a great deal wrong over hurdles. King Caractacus returns from a lengthy absence and it's difficult to see any of the remainder getting involved.
