Verdict

Nosam returned to winning ways when scoring at Sedgefield earlier in the week but that was over 2m5f and Richard Guest's gelding may not be so effective back over a longer trip so the vote goes to Carnacrack, who gets the vote over Broadgate Flyer. The last mentioned showed improved form when a creditable third behind a back to form Be My Manager at Perth last time and has to be respected. Neither Chevalier Errant, who has a long absence to overcome, nor Executive Games make much appeal so Carnacrack gets the nod. Admittedly the nine-year-old has been raised 9lbs for his last time out win at Cartmel and has not been seen since July but, having only had 13 career outings, the gelding is still lightly raced and open to improvement. Granted he is fit enough for his return, Carnacrack should be good enough to win this.
