Not much strength in depth here and the only winner in the field Alam, must have a squeak, despite his penalty. A wide margin winner of a moderate contest at at Ayr, Peter Monteith's gelding is open to improvement. However, he was some way inferior to Medallist on the flat and although the latter didn't show much on his debut over timber, he too is open to improvement. Double Spey shaped quite nicely on his jumping debut behind the ill fated Tunstall and he can be expected to step up on that effort. A chance is taken with Thunder Canyon, who shaped well enough on his debut, on a track that would have been too sharp for him. He stayed well on the flat and while he will be suited by further in time, this stiffer track should help.
