Verdict

The jury remains out on Star Trouper. The level of his form on his first two starts is well above that of his rivals but his two runs after returning from a break cast a doubt or two about taking a short price about the Hobbs charge. His aggressive, attacking style will be suited to this track and he may well win easily but a chance is taken with ELYSIAN PRINCE. The gelding was narrowly beaten on the level at Windsor at the start of the month before making his debut over timber in a competitive little heat at Aintree against far more experienced sorts. He shaped with promise and could improve significantly with the benefit of that initial outing. Le Capricieux was much better when last seen at Kempton and has every chance if backing up that run here, whilst No Win No Fee cannot be discarded for the Newland operation.
