In depth

Verdict

A dreadful maiden in which Victor Victorious is tentatively preferred to Crack On and Hugo Wolf. Victor Victorious is better known as a chaser and the bookmakers were a little wary of him in the ring at Towcester when he took his chance in a recent chase at the track. The blinkers are on for the first time and a reproduction of his Irish form would make him difficult to beat. Crack On is only rated 68 and shows just how poor this race is. He was beaten by cricket scores in the past and was pulled up on his most recent start. Hugo Wolf isnt the best horse to have passed through the hands of Alan King but the yard are at least in form and he did show a modicum of ability in bumpers. Nannys Gift stays the trip although showed nothing on a recent outing at Wetherby. Supreme Team has less negatives than the rest. Not a race for the faint hearted and Victor Victorious can only be considered to be a token selection.
