Verdict

An interesting opener where GENERAL TING might be able to confirm placings with Action Impact, while Clerk's Choice is a danger. The selection beat Action Impact by three-and-a-half lengths here on good to soft last month, and is now 6lbs worse off as a result. However, the way he won suggests that there may be more to come and he might be able to confirm his superiority over that reopposing rival. Clerk's Choice was an impressive winner of a similar contest at Kempton last time, for which he too is penalised. He is open to further improvement after just two runs over hurdles, so he has to be taken very seriously, although this will be the softest ground that he has encountered and he has to prove himself on it. The most interesting of the remainder appears to be hurdling newcomer Silver Roque, who won on the Flat on heavy ground on his only start in France. He makes his British debut for Hen Knight, who does well at this track, and a market check is advised. However, the aforementioned trio look set to be heavily involved and we will side with General Ting.
