In depth

Verdict

Tomina represents a stable in form and should go close despite his big weight, however Marborough Sound just gets the verdict here, with Heir To Be also expected to be on the premises. The selection pulled very hard when running a promising race on his return at Perth. He was trying three miles for the first time and was just out paced by the winner from the final flight. He may have needed that run and if he settles better today he will be hard to beat over this slightly longer trip. Tomina was successful over this trip at Southwell in April and a recent spin on the flat should have blown away the cobwebs, he should be involved in the finish. Heir To Be hasn't raced since last December but has gone well fresh in the past. The stable are starting to hit form and he could reward each-way support. Best of the rest could be Phar From Frosty, but Marlborough Sound is expected to take first prize.
