Verdict

PHOENIX ROCK has been steadily improving over fences and came good at Worcester last month. A further 10lb rise is problematic but not insurmountable given the quality of today’s opposition. Alexander The Grey is a long-standing maiden but should help force the pace again while Damut I'm Out has won over fences and hurdles since returning from a spell hunting. Brigadier Bob was second over track and trip in May while Newton Abbot third Joey Steel is preferred to stablemate Watching Brief. Invincible Don won at Worcester a month ago but failed to follow up at Fontwell and has been raised in the weights again since.
