Verdict

KING ROONAH was in command when tumbling at Perth last week and assuming he is okay after that misdemeanour some compensation awaits here; King Penda and Belanak join Mr Midaz on the list of dangers. Gordon Elliott's gelding was well-backed and going to win at Perth but this return to hurdling might be a wise move following that crashing fall. He got up okay and connections seem keen to get him out quickly this week so with the ground in his favour he should take all the beating. King Penda has the ground in his favour and is not ignored as he goes handicapping off a mark of 90, Belanak is another Irish raider to respect as he tackles quicker going and a longer trip in the hope of bringing about some improvement, whilst Harcas should appreciate the ground and is not ruled out. Cornish Castle tries the cheek-pieces again as he drops down the handicap, Sadler's Cove is a course-and-distance winner, whilst Panthers Run is a course winner and might appreciate a run over hurdles after his jumping has lacked fluency of late. Fair Spin needs a check after a gutsy win at Pontefract last month in a stayers flat race, but it is King Roonah who can win the race.
