Verdict

Fashions Monty is in superb form at present and can complete a quickfire hat-trick here, with Tarbolton Moss and Midlem Melody perhaps the ones to chase him home. The selection, from the in-form Ferdy Murphy yard, relished testing conditions when winning here over course and distance at the start of the month, and then followed that up with a wide margin win on soft at Sedgefield four days later. A 9lb rise plus a penalty do not look good enough to stop him against opponents who are in nothing like his form and so he is a confident choice. Tarbolton Moss has dropped back to below his last winning mark and on that basis he can be given a chance. trainer Martin Todhunter is also going well and the mare will relish the ground, though this trip may well be on the short side for her and we are prepared to oppose. Of the remainder, Midlem Melody will appreciate the course and distance as a previous winner over it, but probably won't be as effective on this bottomless ground, though can still take home some prize money. However, Fashions Monty is flying at present and can complete the hat-trick.
