    In depth

    Verdict

Monita Des Bois is the pick ahead of Macnance and Kicasso, with Laskari and Full House not out of it entirely. Prior to being pulled up after a blunder at Musselburgh last time, Monita Des Bois had made a successful British debut over fences at Towcester in a mares' only chase, so obviously has the class to win this. She was a useful hurdler in France, but did have a tendency to make the odd mistake even then, so needs to learn to treat her fences with more respect before being considered a mortgage job. However, she is only a five-year-old and has the scope to progress enough to make her mark and gets the vote. Macnance is a lot older and ran with credit in the Mares' Final at Uttoxeter, just failing to last out for a place. The drop in trip and grade should see her go close as well. Kicasso hails from a top yard but is best watched on his latest effort at Huntingdon, while Laskari made too many mistakes at Newbury. Full House is another that has yet to get his act together and is worth taking on, so this could be one for the ladies, with Monita Des Bois our idea of the winner.
