In depth

Verdict

Plenty of runners, but also plenty of deadwood. Although lumbered with top weight, Stand Easy is no better than a plater, which speaks volumes for the quality of this contest. Grateful Dancer at least comes into this in decent form and has won for his amateur rider, so she is worthy of consideration, but the vote goes to Buckskin Lad, who seemed to find improvement for the step up to a trip just short of this last time. He is lightly raced under rules and may even be capable of further improvement.
