Verdict

Although a maximum turnout, this isn't that competitive. Those with the best form on offer include Clever Thyne, Chanticlier, with possible improvers Radcliffe and Ollie Magern. Preference is for Chanticlier, who will certainly find this easier than when chasing the likes of the top-class Iris's Gift, Ad Hoc and company home at Cheltenham. He had previously run with credit behind the useful Taming at the same track and that form alone makes him the one to beat. Using Lords Best as a guide leaves Clever Tyne with plenty to find with the selection, but Henry Daly's representative does have the edge in fitness and will be the one to take advantage if Chanticlier is less than 100%. Bumper winner Radcliffe may do better now he faces a stiffer test, but he does need to improve, while Ollie Magern, who had plenty of use made of him at Stratford, may improve again for the stiffer test he faces here.
