Jeremy Noseda's SECRET WITNESS looks the one to beat here; the list of dangers is headed by Desire To Excel and Eastern Warrior. The selection won well on his debut when he overcame inexperience to beat Hypnotist at Lingfield. He makes his handicap debut today off what could be a favourable mark, but he should come on plenty for his debut success and he sets the standard for the others. Desire To Excel has had his problems in the past but he was good value for his winning margin when he got the better of Campli at Musselburgh last month. That was his seasonal bow so he is entitled to strip fitter and he looks a leading player. Eastern Warrior chased home Simon Gray here over a mile last month, but he had an awkward head carriage that day and the ground may also be against him here. Belated Silver is a consistent sort and with Tom Dascombe in good form he makes plenty of each-way appeal. But Secret Witness clearly has plenty of ability and he can make it two wins out of two.
