Verdict

HAWK MOUNTAIN has a progressive profile and he can back-up his recent Doncaster success at the main expense of Bijou Dan and Hawridge King. John Quinn has his string in really good form at present and Graham Gibbons is also riding extremely well. The pair can continue their purple patch here as Hawk Mountain scored in impressive fashion last time on ground that was probably quicker than ideal. There should be more to come and the cut in the ground here will suit so he sets the standard for the others. Bijou Dan is another who arrives here in good form but he beat the John Quinn-trained Aleron last time. That will give the stable a form line for our selection and we are confident he can get the better of Bijou Dan. Hawridge King would have claims on the pick of his form and he is certainly better than his recent form would suggest. He may have needed his pipe-opener at Windsor last month and he has won over the course and distance so this longer trip should suit and he can go well at a price. Clive Cox is in good form at present so Murcar is another to consider, but Hawk Mountain is on an upward curve and he can win again.
