Verdict

Swaheen scored easily at Ripon and looks sure to figure over this longer trip despite carrying a penalty. Joseph Jefferson makes his handicap debut after three modest efforts in maiden company and should stay but SENRIMA (NAP) is preferred. The latter produced a late surge to score over 1m4f at Newbury earlier in the month and looks likely to improve over today's distance on that evidence. Munstead Pride and Magic Circle were both beaten over 1m6f last time and it remains to be seen if Sir Chauvelin and Leighterton fare any better.
