In depth

Verdict

IRV has been contesting competitive handicaps with credit, notably on the Knavesmire the last twice. Partnered by Aiden Brookes on all starts this term, the combination makes appeal, especially as his rating has been left untouched by the assessor. First-time cheekpieces are also applied to the Hammond gelding. Lexington Warfare has progressed with each start this term and the booking of Mollie Phillips for Richard Fahey takes the eye. Aoife's Joy has been on the heels of the placed horses in large fields on three of four starts this season and can trouble the best of these off an attractive mark. Little Ted is an each-way player after an improved run latest.
