In depth

Verdict

Bleak House is preferred to Cockspur and Kealshore Lad. Tom Tate's charge ran a real eyecatcher on debut and did little wrong in defeat. He looks the ideal type for Haydock Park and with natural progression, this race is well within his compass. Cockspur is a half-brother to No Shenanigans and is likely to be popular with the combination of O'Neill and McCoy. His time was quite slow by Plumpton standards and more is needed under the penalty. Kealshore Lad was given a huge fillip by Mount Sandel's victory last week - he should not be ruled out too readily. High Moor ran green on debut and can improve on the bare form of that debut run. Shouldhavehadthat has plenty of flat breeding in its pedigree and has to be respected. Bleak House impressed in defeat and can go one better this afternoon.
