Verdict

Fonthill Road is set to go up 3lbs in future handicaps following his fine second to full spate over course and distance recently and is taken to go one better here at the main expense of Kingscross and Sahara Prince. The last mentioned is a consistent performer but he may again have to settle for a minor role and a bigger threat may come from Kingscross. The six-year-old has form in the soft and remains feasibly well treated on the pick of his form. The Lord should be better served by tonight's conditions but is arguably too high in the weights at present, while Canterloupe, who has dropped to a fair mark, has given little sign of encouragement this term. Balakiref would prefer a faster surface and Marker has yet to prove conclusively that he handles these conditions. The vote then goes to Fonthill Road, who hails from a stable in form, has form in the ground and is well treated on recent evidence.
