    Verdict

PROFESSOR impressed when successful in an Ascot handicap over 7f on his reappearance and looks ready for this step up in class. He can get the better of the consistent Lucky Beggar and Pearl Acclaim, who should strip fitter for his run at Ascot though he did finish behind Glass Office in a Group 3 on the Polytrack in September. Edward Lynam sent over Slade Power to win this 12 months ago and Ireland are represented by Tommy Stack's Clancy Avenue this time. His second to Zanetto at Newmarket was a good effort and he won't be far away while Mar Mar's only previous win came at this distance at Doncaster in November. Valais Girl is also a winner at the trip and she was fifth in the Fred Darling on her return.
