Verdict

Love Angel gets the vote ahead of Kylkenny, with Maneki Neko and Able Mind likely to make their presence felt as well. Love Angel once again has the assistance of up-and-coming Greg Fairley, and that could tilt the scales in his favour. The gelding was given a great ride by today's pilot when scoring at York at the start of this month, dominating proceedings to make all up the far rail. With no penalty to carry next time at Bath, the pair cleaned up again. He ran well enough at Yarmouth next time when stepped up in trip, and a two-pound rise does not appear too harsh, so he should certainly be in at the finish. Maneki Neko won under Saleem Golam at Salisbury a fortnight ago, but that was a claimer and he will not find things that easy here. Kylkenny was hampered during a lady riders race at Bath last time but would have claims on earlier form. However, topweight and an inexperienced partner is a bit off-putting. Able Mind kept on well at Carlisle and is worth a try over this trip, but all in all, Love Angel should have too much in the tank for his six rivals.
