    Verdict

Loulwa is the obvious one here and this 370,000 guineas daughter of Montjeu gets the confident nomination. Lochiel and Beauty Shine make up the shortlist. This is a long way to come just for the fresh Scottish air from Suffolk and Jeremy Noseda's Loulwa may take some stopping. Highly tried in a Listed contest on her second start, she looked much more at home in a maiden next time up when only losing in a photograph. She acts on soft ground and gets the vote. Beauty Shine looks the pick of Mark Johnston's pair and should be watched for market support on her debut; a 48,000 guineas daughter of Selkirk. Lochiel hit the rail and stumbled badly when last seen at the track but that result shouldn't be taken on face value; he is better than that. Irish raider Nasrawy warrants a check in the market, along with Sierras Future. It is worrying that he is blinkered for his racecourse debut though and so we will happily return to Loulwa as the winner.
