Water Margin, Ruby's Dream and Mambazo are shortlisted in this apprentice handicap to open the card and the vote is given to Water Margin. The selection is making his handicap debut today and he certainly ran well enough last time when chasing home Castano. This is the first time he has encountered quick ground but providing he handles it then he should go close. Ruby's Dream finished third behind Danish Blues at Wolverhampton last time but that was only in a seller so he looks to have a little to find today. Mambazo was disappointing last time but he had a poor draw that day and he had previously been in terrific form, so he has to enter calculations here. Valiant Romeo is a course and distance winner and he will have needed his seasonal reappearance run last Thursday so he should strip fitter today. However, we are happy to stick with Water Margin who is taken to get his head in front.
