Verdict

GLENLUJI rates the most solid betting proposition here and gets the vote from Carlitos Spirit, Cils Blancs and Cold Quest. The latter has work to do to beat our pick having been well behind Glenluji at Musselburgh but catches the eye under James Sullivan, whose record aboard the horse is two third-placed finishes from two starts. Not only that, he's tried in first-time blinkers ahead of this return to Hamilton and Linda Perratt likes nothing more than to saddle a winner here, so check the market. Without that guide though Glenluji remains our pick. Jim Goldie's charge did well to win at Musselburgh, a course he likes, but don't be put off by his record here as he'd been running over inadequate distances. We'd prefer to focus on the fact he's unexposed over this apparently ideal trip, has won two of his last three and remains competitively treated up just 3lbs. Carlitos Spirit has the assistance of the capable Lee Topliss for this task and should also improve for trying a mile once more while Cils Blancs should've improved for her first run of the year last time, so with Brian Smart having a fine record here she's another to note. Chicken Daawe's sole handicap success came off this mark over 1m2f so the switch to a stiff track can only help while Applaude seems to like it here and should be staying on late in the day, possibly for a place, but our idea of the winner is Glenluji.
