Glasshoughton gets the call ahead of Aspen Falls, with Chief Argent and Howards Call the only other dangers. Glasshoughton improved markedly on his debut fourth at Redcar in April when chasing home Amadeus Wolf at Ayr three weeks ago. The winner was thought good enough to line up in the Coventry Stakes on Tuesday, and although the selection had no chance that day, he did meet traffic problems two furlongs out, and so to be beaten only two-and-a-half lengths was no disgrace. With that experience to count on, Michael Dods's juvenile should prove too strong for Aspen Falls. The latter so nearly made a winning start to his career when touched off at Redcar recently, but the form is not as good as that of the selection, and he may well have to settle for second best again. Chief Argent is related to a couple of winners but is best watched on his debut, and Howards Call should be outclassed by the principals after finishing fourth in a seller on his introduction. Glasshoughton has obvious claims and will be hard to beat.
