Verdict

Tracy Waggott has KING PIN in fine form at present and the Pivotal gelding is taken to follow up a recent Redcar win from Petsas Pleasure. The selection had only three-quarters-of-a-length in hand at the Yorkshire track, but was stepping up to this trip for the first time and may well be able to find a bit more. He is 5lbs higher today and his form this campaign has belied the notion that horses of his ability struggle to find consistency. Nothing else here is in quite such good form and we will side with him. Petsas Pleasure can give him most to do. The Ollie Pears-trained three-year-old races from the same mark as when runner-up over course and distance last time and is again likely to prove a handful. Singora Lady scored at Pontefract over this trip in a minor handicap and then struggled last time with a 6lb rise to contend with. The assessor has now eased that burden by 3lbs, so she can get closer once more. Shadow Time is generally pretty consistent, though threw in an ordinary effort at Carlisle last month. If able to produce his previous running he is not without hope. Pegasus Lad needs a market check now that he is slipping in the weights and has first-time blinkers applied, but King Pin can live up to his name again here.
