Verdict

There is no doubt that BROKEN SPEAR (NAP) has come up against some above-average juveniles in his four runs to date. His latest third at York is stand-out form in a race like this and a first victory should be his for the taking as he had Look Out Louis and Axel Jacklin well behind when second at Ripon at the end of April, though the latter pair have both improved since. Princes Des Sables is from a yard that can get one ready at home but she only cost 8,000gns. Theatre Of War was bought for €14,000 but is a half-brother to four winners so is worth a market check.
