In depth

Verdict

Fine Lace, by Frankel out of a 1m2f winner and related to a Group 1 winner, makes a belated debut but even Colin Keane may not be able to steer her into the winner's enclosure from stall 16. Another newcomer, Sierra Nevada, is much better drawn and is related to several winners. Orionid made a very promising debut at Fairyhouse and didn't handle heavy conditions when last at Tipperary while Simply Incredible looks the type to improve on what she's shown to date. Punakha could hardly be more consistent and, though looking vulnerable again, looks the main threat to NEW YORK ANGEL, who disappointed when reappearing after a break at Cork but would take some beating on her early season form.
