Sydney Thompson's only victory to date came in this race a year ago. He's been beaten three times this winter after a long break on heavy ground and today's going will be just as testing. Tipped Up Harry isn't the most consistent of performers but is well capable of winning this in the right frame of mind and Luke Dempsey is excellent value for his claim. Might Be Magic finished tailed off in this last year and his winning form is over the minimum trip, including a decent handicap at Fairyhouse in January. Winning point-to-pointer Hard Bought battled to victory over the minimum at Thurles in January but ran poorly when stepped up another mile at Fairyhouse so this could be his trip. THE MAD WELL (NAP) scored at Limerick on very heavy going at around this trip in December and though beaten subsequently hasn't been disgraced so David Mullins can steer him home. The veteran Dog Barrel Hill was chasing when last seen in 2013 and, though on a fair mark, has a very long absence to overcome.
