Verdict

Finders Keepers can build on his promising debut to open his account here ahead of Tahreeb and Motivus. Ed Dunlop's colt, being a son of Selkirk, will appreciate any rain that falls to soften the going, and will have learnt from his introduction behind Gwaihir at Newbury where he finished a highly creditable third, despite not getting the best of runs. Described by his trainer as a cocky sort, this race has been his target since then. He would appear to hold Tahreeb on that form although Marcus Tregoning's juveniles are in good order at present. Motivus shaped well on his Doncaster bow, proving no match for subsequent winner Balmont, but showing enough to suggest that he can land a maiden. This promises to be slightly above average though and he is passed over. Richard Hannon is double-handed with Habanero and newcomer Mister Saif, and the latter has been striding out well at home apparently. Pat Eddery has been booked for the likely outsider Jack Sullivan who would appear to have a mountain to climb on his debut, and we would prefer to side with Finders Keepers.
