VALMINA ran very well in the Ayr Bronze Cup and though he hasn't won since last June he's now on a 2lb lower mark and has George Downing's claim as a bonus. He can get back on the winning trail though the lightly-raced Threave, a maiden winner at Salisbury on just her second start, has more to offer and must be on the shortlist. Never A Quarrel landed a minor handicap at Wolverhampton and will need to find more from 7lb higher and though Dark Lane is reasonably consistent he hasn't won since last May. Waseem Faris has a poor strike-rate of 2-40 for such a genuine sprint handicapper but is always competitive at this level and with his rider able to claim 5lb he can reach the frame once again.
